Scarlett & Natasha — Pre-Wedding Shoot at Didsbury Parsonage

I met up with Scarlett and Natasha at Didsbury Parsonage Gardens for their pre-wedding shoot ahead of their August wedding at Fairfield Social Club. It’s where they got engaged, so it made sense to return for some quiet time together before the big day.

The gardens gave us just enough space to wander without feeling too exposed—shaded paths, bits of greenery to duck behind, and a few benches to sit and take it all in. No need for stiff poses or anything too staged. Scarlett and Natasha were completely themselves—chatting, walking, pausing now and then. The photos came naturally.

We stopped by the same bench where Natasha proposed, which added a nice bit of context to the shoot without forcing anything. You could tell being back there meant something to them, but they didn’t overplay it.

I shot a mix of digital and film throughout the session, including some frames on the Mamiya RB67 and Pentax 645, both loaded with Kodak Portra. The slower pace of film worked really well with the setting—less about constant clicking, more about waiting for the right moment and letting things breathe.

Their wedding at Fairfield Social Club in August will be a total shift in energy—urban, industrial, and packed with people. I think it’s going to be a brilliant contrast to the calm of this shoot, and I’m looking forward to capturing both sides of their story.
