FAQ’s
How do you work?
I work in a casual relaxed manner, capturing the small moments of the day as it unfolds. I’ll mostly be in the background but sometimes I may see a nice moment and interact with you or the guests to make the most of it.
When we have some down time in-between the ceremony and evening it’s nice to take you both for a short walk around the venue for a few couple portraits. I don’t like to pose you too much but rather have you interacting with each other in a more natural manner, just being yourselves really!
I’ll make sure to take notice and photograph all the little details of the day that you’ve thought of, helping to capture the essence and vibe of the wedding.
Although I shoot most of the day on digital cameras I do love to get out the real film cameras too. So I’ll make sure to shoot some 35mm and 120 film and edit these together with the digital images using some techniques like double exposures.
How long do you stay?
Roughly 10 hours. A couple of hours before the ceremony and an hour after the first dance is about right to capture the story of the day.
How many photos will we get?
It depends a lot on how many guests and how long I’m there for. Generally I will supply you with over 400 photos for a full day.
How long until we receive our photos?
I will aim to get over a small selection of around 10 images for you to share with family and friends in the week after the wedding. The full collection normally takes around 4 weeks but I’ll keep you informed if i’m going to be quicker or slower than this.
How do we receive our photos?
I’ll send a link via email to your online gallery (valid for 6 months). From here, guests can download the files for free and order prints if they wish.
When do we need to pay you?
I take a 25% deposit to confirm booking, and then the remaining balance is due one month before the wedding day. I’m happy to receive the payment in instalments.
Do you need a meal?
I need to keep my energy levels up! So if you aren’t providing a meal please let me know either way so I can pack my own lunch or plan in a food stop nearby. Free soft drinks are also always really appreciated to keep me hydrated. I don’t need to be sat with the wedding party, I’m happy on my own somewhere, I’ll usually be backing up the mornings photos whilst having a bite.
Do you have public liability insurance?
Yep, I’m insured up to £5 million public liability. If your venue needs a copy of my liability insurance then just let me know.
Do we need a pre-wedding shoot?
It's a good way to meet and get in a bit of practice in front of the camera. Especially if you think you aren’t the most comfortable. I like to look at it as you getting to know me a little before the big day and any photos that come from it are a bonus. Plus it doesn’t have to be just you two, the kids or dogs can come along too.
What happens if you’re ill?
I would have to be really really ill to not make your wedding! I’ve not had an illness keep me away from work for many years.
However, sometimes illness is unavoidable so what happens if I really can’t make it?
From my experience working the last 10 years in Fashion and photography studios I have a group of very talented friends who I would first go to to provide cover for your day. If that fails I am in a few online groups who offer up their services in these circumstances.
What happens if your camera breaks on the day?
Accidents can happen, I shoot with two digital cameras and also have an extra back up camera just in case. I also shoot to more than one memory card and back up photos to a MacBook during your mealtime, just for some added security.
What about prints?
I will provide some 6x4 prints along with your USB of images. If you’d like me to provide some larger prints or framed prints I can do that too! Just ask me and I can quote for those.
How long will my photos be available for online?
I will keep your photos in the online gallery for six months, after that they will be backed up and stored locally.
